SDI Instruments

sdi-finalBorn from the obvious that shipping brazilian musical instruments across the world was not the most sustainable, Samuka started in 2014 a collaboration with Svaram to design and craft Capoeira musical instruments.

Svaram researches and crafts a wide variety of ‘world-music instruments’ from original and primal sound- makers to sophisticated string resonators, which find application in the emerging field of music education, sound therapy and personal growth work.
The unit also emphasize on offering fair living to its workers.

Samuka da Índia (crafting musical instruments since 2009) & the Svaram team at large work together to make berimbau, atabaque, pandeiro, agogo, reco-reco,…

The making of each instrument focuses on quality of sound and material but also beauty and design.
